From that point forward, my hunger to know God became intense.
When I had free time, I wanted to study.
I read the Bible every single day because I wanted to understand everything I could about God, His Word, His character, His will, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
I initially started with the New Living Translation. Eventually, I began reading the King James Version, and then I started comparing different Bible translations because I became fascinated by the way different translations communicated the biblical text.
At the same time, I began listening to preachers and pastors.
Alongside that hunger for the Word, music was still part of my life. I had always produced music, and from time to time I wrote music as well, but writing was never something I had a true passion for. During this season of my faith, I decided to write music for the glory of God.
Even so, I began to wrestle with whether the kind of music I was making was wrong to do, even though it was intended for God's glory.
At times I felt that because the aesthetic of the music sounded like secular music, even though the lyrics were not, it could have been corrupting the gospel, kind of like what I was doing with Grandeur Excellence, which I will talk about later.
That is why I didn't stay consistent with lyrical music.
There were times when I was fully convinced that I was in error, and there were also times when I was fully convinced that God approved.
My understanding on that has changed now.
That was just one of the struggles of understanding I dealt with during that period. Music definitely was not the only thing. I just wanted to study and research all that I could so that I would not be in error.
