Spiritually dry

Psalms 63:1. My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land. Thirst proves the soul still lives. Psalms 42:1-2. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. The psalmist names dryness honestly while still naming God as his thirst. A dry season is not an ended relationship; the ache itself is the soul still reaching. Father, in this dry place, make my thirst a prayer. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and draw me again to Yourself. Have I mistaken the absence of feeling for the absence of God, when my very thirst is proof He is still drawing me? Sit with one small portion of Scripture for ten minutes today, not to feel something but to stay near the Source. Return tomorrow.
