1 Corinthians 7:32. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord. Singleness is undivided devotion.
Psalms 73:25. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.
Paul honors singleness as undivided devotion to the Lord, and the psalmist finds his deepest desire in God alone. Singleness is not a waiting room but a calling in which Christ proves sufficient.
Father, be the desire of my heart. Make my singleness fruitful, and teach me to know Your sufficiency in it.
Am I treating my singleness as a waiting room or as a calling where Christ is enough today?
