Romans 8:1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. Shame says condemned; the gospel says free.
Psalms 34:5. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
Shame hides; the gospel exposes us to grace. In Christ, the verdict is settled before the feelings ever arrive. Looking to Him lifts the face.
Father, when shame tells me to hide, remind me that there is no condemnation in Christ. Lift my face to Yours.
Whose voice does my shame sound like, and what would it mean to believe God's verdict over that one?
Today, bring one hidden shame into the light: confess it to God, and, if you can, to one trustworthy person.
