Major decision

James 1:5. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not. Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. James points the uncertain to a generous God; Solomon promises direction to the one who trusts rather than self-relies. Wisdom is given, not generated. Father, I lack wisdom. Give it freely as You promised, and direct my paths as I trust You and not my own understanding. Where am I leaning on my own understanding while asking God to rubber-stamp it? Write the decision in one sentence. Ask God for wisdom, seek one counsel, then take the next clear step, not the whole path.
