Revelation 3:15-16. I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, I will spue thee out. Half-devotion is exposed.
Revelation 3:19. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. The rebuke of love calls us back.
Christ's word to Laodicea exposes the danger of comfortable half-devotion, yet rebukes as one who loves and calls to zealous repentance. Lukewarmness need not end in defeat; repentance rekindles the fire.
Lord, forgive my lukewarmness. Remind me of my first love, and rekindle zeal for You in my heart today.
