2 Corinthians 4:17. Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
Psalms 73:26. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
Paul, himself suffering, reframes affliction against eternity. The psalmist admits the body's failing while naming God as the heart's true portion. Illness is real; so is the Rock under it.
Father, my body is failing and I am weary. Be the strength of my heart and my portion, and sustain me by Your grace.
What would it look like to trust God not just for healing but for sustaining grace within this illness?
Each day this week, name one mercy you can still see and thank God for it. Let gratitude stand beside the suffering.
