Forgiveness

Matthew 18:21-22. Jesus answers Peter's limit on forgiveness with a number that means 'without end': grace that refuses to keep a ledger. Ephesians 4:32. We forgive because we have been forgiven. The cross is the measure, not the wrong done to us. Jesus reorients forgiveness away from a tally and toward the heart that has itself been mercied. To forgive is to release a debt we could never collect anyway. Lord, as You have forgiven me, make me able to forgive. Free me from the ledger I keep, and from the prison it builds. Whose debt am I still holding that Christ already paid in full? Name one person you are resenting. Today, pray for them by name, asking God to bless them, and do it again tomorrow.
