Genesis 33:4. Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. Reconciliation, when it comes, is a gift.
2 Corinthians 5:18. God hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. We are reconciled in order to reconcile.
The reconciliations of Scripture are rare and costly, and estrangement is named honestly. Through Christ, God has given His people a ministry of reconciliation. Not every rift is healed on our timetable, but every step toward peace is sacred.
Father, where I am estranged, make me willing to be reconciled. Grace me for the hard conversations, and keep my heart from bitterness.
