Malachi 2:16. The Lord hateth putting away. God's heart is for the covenant marriage to endure.
Matthew 19:6. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Malachi reveals God's heart for the lifelong covenant, while Jesus upholds the bond and extends grace to the broken. The pain of divorce is real and named in Scripture; so is the God who heals, forgives, and restores.
Father, heal the wounds of this broken covenant. Comfort me, restore me, and lead me forward in Your grace and truth.
