Discouragement

2 Corinthians 4:8-9. Troubled on every side, yet not distressed; perplexed, but not in despair; cast down, but not destroyed. Galatians 6:9. Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Paul does not deny the pressure; he reframes it. The believer is pressed but never abandoned, weary but not finished. The harvest belongs to those who do not quit. Father, I am weary and heavy of heart. Lift me; renew me; let me not faint before the harvest You have promised. Where am I measuring by how I feel today instead of by the harvest God has promised in due season? Take one well-doing you are tempted to abandon and do it once more this week, entrusting the timing of fruit to God.
