Calling

Ephesians 4:1. Walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called. Calling is not only a future assignment but a present manner of walking. 1 Peter 2:9. Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness. Paul ties calling to character before task. Peter reminds us we are called out of darkness to declare God's praise. Calling is first and always a calling to Christ. Father, make my life worthy of the calling with which You called me. Let my chief calling be to know You and to show forth Your praise. Have I been seeking a calling more than seeking the One who calls, and what would change if I sought Him first? Name one way God is already using you in this season. Give thanks for it and walk worthy there this week, before looking further on.
