Anger

Ephesians 4:26. Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath. Anger is not denied; it is disciplined. James 1:19-20. Swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, because the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God. Scripture does not command us to feel nothing. It commands us to handle what we feel so it does not become sin. Listen first; righteousness does not grow from rage. Father, make me slow to speak and slow to wrath. Set a guard over my tongue, and do not let the sun set on my anger. Whose voice am I refusing to hear because my anger is too loud? Before responding to the next provocation, pause for one full breath and ask, What is the righteous thing to do here?
